This book uses Walter Rast's ceramic chronology in his 1978 work on the Iron Age pottery at Tell Ta'annek as the basis for the periodization of the Iron Age strata, originally excavated by Paul Lapp. It presents the Iron Age stratigraphy area by area, period by period, based on the excavators' field notes, reports, plans and photographs.
